Diet & Nutrition Assessment

How We
Can Help

Nutrition can determine our quality of life and sense of well being. Good nutrition is the foundation of good health, good organ function, energy, food utilisation and cell growth.

Our aim is to individualise the patient’s nutritional needs. This is the balance of carbohydrates, proteins, lipids (fats), minerals, vitamins and water.

Although good nutrition is the foundation of good health many people do not reach their necessary levels of intake of vitamins and minerals. This can be due to poor food choice, foods grown in depleted soils, lack of exercise, stress and particularly lack of absorption due to poor gut health.

At the Essex Annandale Allergy Clinic, we individually assess the patient’s nutritional health and with a combination of detox treatment/food testing/elimination regimes and supplementation advice we work with the patient to enhance their optimum health and well being.

How healthy is your gut?

Approximately 80% of your Immune System comes from the Gut. If your Gut is out of balance it could lead to repeated infections; low vitality and a reduced sense of well being.

Have you had?

  • Repeated antibiotics
  • Food poisoning
  • The contraceptive pill
  • Long periods of stress
  • Severe diarrhoea/vomiting bugs
  • Long courses of any medication
  • HRT/ hormone treatment
  • Worm treatment

Getting the balance back

The gut consist of approximately 80% good bacteria and approximately 20% yeasts. If you have had one or more of the above, then it is highly likely that your gut is out of balance. All of our nutrients are absorbed through the gut. Although we may think that we are having a nutritious diet—if the gut is out of balance then we are going to be undernourished and depleted. This can affect us mentally and emotionally as well as physically.
