Irritable Bowel Syndrome

What is IBS?

IBS is an umbrella term for a variety of diseases of the gastro-intestinal tract.

The main symptoms of iBS

The main symptoms of IBS are constipation, diarrhoea, bloating, spasms, urgency, flatulence, nausea and can even have excess mucous. Food sensitivities can often be the cause of IBS or an aggravation to it. There can be a connection with anxiety and depression and stress can be related. 20% of adults suffer from a few symptoms of IBS but often tests find no physical abnormalities and most people resign themselves to living with the daily discomfort.

How we can help

At the Essex Annandale Allergy Clinic, we do not believe that you have to live with or ‘put up’ with these symptoms. Our approach is multi faceted. We test for food intolerances and then individualise detox/healthy eating regimes. We give supplementation advice and very often the symptoms can be totally eradicated or at least minimised.
